Prof. Magnus L. Kpakol is the Executive Chairman of Economic Growth and Development Strategy (EGDC) with offices in the United States and Nigeria. He is the Host of the very popular Talk Show, Magnus Kpakol gvA which airs in Nigeria and across the world. He is the President and Principal Consultant at VIJONS International based in Dallas, Texas and its affiliate VIJONS Investments in Nigeria. Prof. Kpakol is also the Chairman of Economic and Business Strategies, Ltd, also with offices in the United States and Nigeria. At the EBS Prof. Kpakol has created Phenomenal, a revolutionary Human Capital Development platform and Club for students and professionals across the world.
Prof. Kpakol is a motivator and prolific speaker. He is a global political economist, with expertise in areas covering human capital development strategies, global economic competitiveness, productivity, innovation, poverty eradication, international partnerships, trade, global business and micro-financing.
Prof. Kpakol was the Chief Economic Adviser to the President of Nigeria and later served as Senior Special Assistant to the President and National Coordinator of the National Poverty Eradication Program (NAPEP).
Before working with the government of Nigeria he was a senior economist in the Planning & Research department of JCPenney Company, a major multinational based in Plano Texas. He was also a visiting professor of economics at the University of Dallas and previous to that an adjunct professor of economics at the same university where he taught economic development, international economics, labour economics, statistics, econometrics and public economics. Prof. Kpakol also taught many courses, including global business and multicultural business in the Graduate School of Business at the The University of Dallas. He was also an adjunct lecturer and professor at other universities and colleges, including the University of North Texas in Denton, and North Lake College in Irving, Texas.
Prof. Kpakol once served as a consultant for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). He has spoken at various conferences around the world and has appeared on various radio and TV programs. He has been quoted in major newspapers, including the Wall Street Journal and USA Today as an international economist with expertise on the US, African and global economies.
Prof. Kpakol holds a PhD and an MA in political economy from the University of Texas at Dallas. He also holds an MS degree in Labor Economics and Industrial Relations from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, following a BS in Liberal Arts from the University of Wisconsin in Superior, Wisconsin.
