Prof. Magnus L. Kpakol is the Chairman and CEO of Economic Growth and Development Center (Economic Center). Magnus Kpakol is also Chairman of Economic and Business Strategies, (EBS) Ltd, an economic, business and management consulting company. Both the Economic Center and EBS have offices in the United States and Nigeria.

Public Sector Service

Magnus Kpakol served in Nigeria’s Federal Executive Council at the level of Senior Minister in the capacity of Chief Economic Adviser to the President of Nigeria and Vice Chairman/CEO of National Planning Commision. He later served as Senior Special Assistant to the President and National Coordinator of the National Poverty Eradication Program (NAPEP).

Private Sector Service

Before working with the government of Nigeria he had been a senior economist, leading the international business and economic research unit in the Planning & Research department of JCPenney Company, a major multinational company that was based in Plano Texas. He was also a visiting professor of economics at the University of Dallas, where he taught economic development, international economics and others.
